Why water is important
Water is very useful for us. We use it for drinking, washing, bathing, cooking and for many other things. Water is one of the most important substances for every living being on earth. We cannot lead our day to day life without water. If earth had no water, man would not survive and all organisms in the world would die.
From tiny insects to blue whales, all life on earth exists with the presence of water. A plant needs water to grow. A whale needs water as a place to live in. We humans require water for our day to day live. Without water in our bodies, we cannot survive. We need water taken directly or through fruits or vegetables that have some water content in them.
So always remember that water is a very precious gift to us by Mother Nature and it is not a thing to be wasted.

Protecting our forests
A forest is a large area dominated by trees and undergrowth. It can be considered a natural resource. There are many forests in the world and the largest one is the Amazon Forest. Some others are Sinharaja forest reserve and Taiga forest reserve etc. It all adds up to 31 percent of the world’s land.
Forests are important for animals, plants and also micro-organisms. It is able to provide habitats for these organisms. It has the ability to provide rain and oxygen. Forests provide watershed protection and reduce climate change. Forests also have many challenges to face like people clearing forests which leads to deforestation and causes floods. People disposing non-biodegradable items into forests can also harm forests.
There are many things we can do to protect our forests. We can stop cutting trees and educate people about it. We can plant trees in our gardens and contribute towards various organizations and communities who commit forest protection. We can avoid polluting the environment and keep it safe. To increase awareness of protecting forests, we celebrate International Forest Day on March 21 every year. We get a proper understanding about the importance of forests, to maintain life through this celebration. Therefore we must determine to protect this gift of nature for the future generations.

My favourite poet
I am a great lover of poetry. I learn poems and like to know details of poets like Keats, William Wordsworth and Shelley etc. Of all the poets, the one I am most fond of is William Wordsworth.
Wordsworth wrote in an unconventional style, with a diction that is really easy to understand. His poetry is an unplanned overflow of powerful feelings, recollected peacefully. He was more interested and concerned with simple people that he came across in his life. He was a worshipper of nature. William Wordsworth was a poet who gave nature much importance. His first poem is ‘An Evening Walk’. One of the most popular poems by Wordsworth is ‘I wandered Lonely as a Cloud’, also known as ‘Daffodils’.
“I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high over vales and hills;
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils”
The main themes of his poems are; the beneficial influence of nature, the power of human minds, the splendor of childhood. Wordsworth found a simple person as a more appealing person. For example in the touching poem about a girl who reaps in a field.
So, my favourite poet is William Wordsworth.
