A new friend
On my first day at school, I met my new friend Aadil Maujood. He is seven years old. He helps me to do my work at school. On his birthday I gave him a present. At school, we talk and play together. When I am in trouble, he helps me. Whenever he is in trouble, I help him.
Having a new friend is so much fun. I take my cars to school to play with him. I love him and he loves me back.

The best party I have ever been to
The best party I’ve ever been to is last year’s Christmas party. It was held in our aunt’s house. I decorated myself in a beautiful gown and reached there in our car.
As soon as we entered the place, my eyes caught the sight of the stunningly decorated drawing room with a colourful Christmas tree standing at the edge. My aunt and her family welcomed us very happily. Most of the invited guests including cousins and friends had already arrived before us. Everyone was chatting happily with each other. My cousin sister served us with a welcome drink which tasted really good and we were also treated with various types of delicious snacks too.
I heard the melody of a beautiful Christmas song which my cousin sister was playing on the piano. After a while, my aunt invited all the kids to join in the Christmas games. I was pleased to hear that. The first game my aunt announced was ‘stack the gifts’ which I have never heard of before. The game was interesting but I couldn’t win it. We also played ‘pin the nose of the snowman’, ‘Christmas musical chairs’ and ‘balloon dancing’. I was very happy that I won ‘musical chairs’ which was my favourite game.
After enjoying the Christmas games, our uncle invited everyone to the Christmas dinner table. The table was filled with various types of meals and also a big tasty looking Christmas cake. The meals tasted awesome.
Suddenly, Santa Claus appeared at the party. The children screamed with joy. Santa gave them gifts which he had in his huge bag. He gave me a gift too. I easily recognized that my uncle was dressed as Santa but I didn’t tell it to the others.
Lastly everyone was dancing and singing happily. Santa joined with them too. Suddenly Santa announced that he was going to choose a Christmas Queen among the children at the party. I was glad to see Santa crowned my sister as the Christmas Queen. She was dazzling with a beautiful tiara.
Actually this was the most enjoyable and best party that I have been to. I hope that this year’s one will not be second to it.

Starting a new hobby and the things I would collect and why
Well, I was motivated and inspired to start a new hobby, when I was reading the December 2019 copy of the Readers Digest – The world’s best-loved magazine. In fact, this month’s issue on page 51 under the heading ‘Quotable Quotes’ persuaded me to collect the golden quotes as my new hobby.
The very first quote of actor Bob Hope was about his idea of Christmas – “My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple; loving others.” As soon as I finished reading the rest of the quotes, I started my new hobby collecting and writing them in a CR book because I believe these golden quotes could change my life. So I started writing them down in alphabetical order and realized that they are full of human values and virtues and also very useful for mood fixing and mind setting especially when you become a ‘bundle of nerves’ due to stress, strain and daily tensions of your routine work-load.
In fact when I was studying on a late night for the year end examination, my mother brought me a hot cup of Nestomalt, quoting, “Hard work should be rewarded by good food,” a quote of author Ken Follett. This incident too motivated me to start my new hobby. Indeed I am very happy that I have collected nearly 200 quotes up to date, within a week after the Christmas holidays. Now all I need is someone with my vision and mission of collecting ‘Quotable Quotes’ like me, so that we could exchange them as pen-friends or e-pals.
