A subject that I like
We study a variety of subjects each day in school and I learn something new from every one of them. But, so far my favourite subject is Science. I like it because it is very logical and has a lot of exciting experiments. Science has an explanation for everything around us. Science helps us to find out about the past and prepare for the future.
I frequently question myself on scientific facts as they help to improve my knowledge. When I was younger, Science was hard for me. So I worked hard over the weekends to improve my grades and as a result, I score well for Science now.
For me it is like a journey because I go through a wide range of different chapters in Science, each one new and fascinating. I hope to follow Science as a subject in the future too.

Planning a project at school
A project I am planning at school could be considered as a project I am planning for the community too. As a prefect, I will bring a motion to the schools senior prefects’ board to clean, whitewash and repair four parallel classrooms of Grade 11 of our school. The purpose of the project is to maintain the classrooms in better condition and to repair the broken furniture. We hope to get permission from the principal and to call all the Year 11 students and their parents for a meeting on a Saturday evening to explain to them the purpose of our project. We hope the all will extend their fullest co-operation.
Once we get the permission, our principal and members of the School Development Committee, we plan to organize some musical entertainment and to sell tickets to be sold to parents and students in order to collect enough money for the planned project. With the money we collect we plan to engage a carpenter to repair the broken furniture and to buy the required paint, paint-brushes etc. All the students of Year 11 will help to whitewash the classrooms. We hope to request some of the old boys of school to help us to paint the doors, windows, cupboards, cabinets with shelves that are provided to each classroom.
I hope the students, parents, past pupils and principal will be very happy about our planned project because, especially the students of Grade 11 will get a lot of benefits and credit by this project.
