My favourite holiday
My favourite holiday is Christmas. I meet many friends and go out for the around the night crazy celebrations. I have loved the celebration of Christmas since my very early childhood. I still enjoy walking around the streets looking at the decorations in the buildings, houses and the trees. We can see Christmas trees in parks, schools, shops and in homes. I go outside to light firecrackers and I love getting Christmas gifts. Christmas is beautiful when snow falls but unfortunately there is no snowfall in our country. I love Christmas.

If I had a one million rupees…
If I had one million rupees, I could do a lot here in Sri Lanka. A lot of people will proudly say that if they had so much money, then they would give it all charity. But, I have other ideas. I will try to make the world a better place for everyone by taking maximum use from the money. As Sri Lankan currency value is very low compared to other currencies around the globe, you can’t do much to change the world with such a little amount. But one thing you can do is increasing the existence capacity of the earth for our future generations by protecting it from climatic changes and global warming.
But how can you do it with just one million rupees? Well the answer to that is we can’t increase the existence capacity by ourselves. The whole world has to help. So if I had one million rupees, then I would organize campaigns all over Sri Lanka, with the help of friends and family about the climatic changes and how it will affect the earth and how a small country like Sri Lanka can make a big difference to the world just like Greta Thunberg. She inspired kids like me all around the world, to do these kinds of campaigns and to make people aware of these things. I can’t do all that will just a million rupees. I will inspire people to raise more money to avoid the human acts that cause 95% of climatic changes around the world. If I don’t do this, then there would be no earth for people to live in for in about 80 years time. And you can’t make the world a better place to live in if you have no earth. So I hope this essay will inspire children around the globe to help people, all the nations and most importantly our own beautiful earth for more cherished years to come.

Helping a friend in need
One day, my best friend told me while playing games in the school playground that she was having a headache. So I asked her to rest for a while and I ran to the water filter and brought her a glass of water to drink. Then she felt a bit alright. But at the school meeting, she fainted. At once another friend and I carried her to the classroom and informed our class teacher. Our class teacher wanted to inform my friend’s parents. I gave my friend’s telephone number, as I knew it. The teacher informed my friend’s parents at once. They came after a little while in a three-wheeler and took her to see a doctor.
After school, I went home and told my mother that my best friend fell sick in school and asked my mother to take me to see her. She couldn’t come to school for a week. Every day I took notes of the lessons that our teacher taught us. I went to see her daily, with my mother and gave her the notes of the lessons learnt. We took food and curries that she liked to eat most. She got well and came back to school. One day my friend came home with her mother and thanked me and told me that a friend in need is a friend indeed.
