My family
“Jayawardene”, that is my family name. Suneth is my father and DUshyanthi is my mother and as for myself, my name is Ravindu. My father is an accountant and my mother is a doctor. They work very hard to look after me. I go to St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10.
I love animals and birds and my mother and father buy me many pets. Most boys love toys, but I love pets. On Sundays, my whole family goes to church. I like it very much when my father and mother are at home with me. I am very happy and eat more when I have me meals with them.
My father and mother love reading. My father has many books and buys me books too. My mother takes me to the library. My mother and father always remind me that the family that prays together stays together. I thank God for giving me my family. I think my family is the best!

My favourite movie
Movies are creative. Some can be so interesting that we want to watch it over a hundred times. Some can be so boring that we don’t want to watch it at all. Many movies are produced daily. But my only favourite movie of all is a movie called ‘Zootopia’. It is about a rabbit who becomes a police officer and with her friend who is a fox, she wants to solve a case of missing mammals.
I like this film because it is super intelligent and because of the jokes and advice and jokes. The characters are Judy Hopps the rabbit police officer, Nick - Judy’s fox friend, Bellweather a sheep who is the villain and many more.
The movie tells us not to give up and keep trying more. If you keep on trying and never give up you will succeed. This movie is thrilling from start to end. Its animations seem almost real. I wish many more movies like this would come in the future. I am waiting for ‘Zootopia 2’.

What you know about Biodiversity
Biodiversity refers to the amount of diversity between different plants, animals and other species on a given habitat. It boosts ecosystems productivity, where species all have an important role to play. Greater species ensures natural sustainability for all life-forms.
Biodiversity is the key indicator for the health of an ecosystem. It is the shortened form for ‘biological diversity’. There are usually three levels of biodiversity. They are; genetic, species and ecosystem diversity. These diversities separate some organisms in the world. The continent of America has many countries that are rich in biodiversity such as Brazil, Mexico, USA etc. Countries in Asia that have great biodiversity includes China, India, Malaysia etc. these countries specifically have many species.
Biodiversity also benefits us humans in many ways. These species help make Earth habitable to humans and contributes food and pharmaceuticals to help reduce the impact of natural disasters. Without biodiversity, humans would find it hard to find food and pharmaceuticals, which will result in our death. Biodiversity plays a big part in human life. Biodiversity also provides is with oxygen and clean water. It helps keep away pest species and diseases.
Biodiversity is a key relationship between different organisms which outputs healthy resources to make our Earth a wonderful and beautiful place. It is a main factor to humans as well as other organisms as it provides food, water and clean air and protects us from natural disasters.
