On May 6 this year, a new face was born into the British Royal Family and it belongs to Prince Harry’s son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, seventh-in-line to the British Throne.
His father, the Duke of Sussex is British, while his mother, Meghan Markle, is American, so he has citizenship in both the UK and the USA. Though he will inherit the Dukedom of Sussex, the Earldom of Dumbarton and the Barony of Kilkeel from his father, he is not a British prince - instead he will use the title ‘Master’.
According to the BBC, he is the first half-American, biracial royal baby as he is both British and American.
Fascinating Facts:
* Master Archie is Queen Elizabeth II’s eighth great-grandchild, after his cousin Prince Louis.
* He has ten aunts and uncles including Prince William, Duchess Kate and his cousins.
* His grandmother, Lady Diana, dies more than 20 years before his birth.
* He is the first British royal to have the names ‘Archie’ and ‘Harrison’.
* He is not the only member of the royal family to not own the title ‘His Royal Highness’. His cousins Mia and Lena Tindall don’t either.
* His aunt, Kate Middleton wore the same earrings to his christening, that Lady Diana wore to Prince Harry’s christening.
